Parent or legal Guardian must be present, and waivers must be completed for each participant.

What else is going on at Truck Pull?

In addition to the competition, several Squad vehicles will be on hand for interactive display. In previous years, this has included BLS ambulances, the Squad’s Technical Rescue vehicle (“The Mack”), the Squad’s converted military Special Services/Water Rescue Vehicle (“The Storm Truck”), and of course, Heavy Rescue 495. People of all ages are welcome to look at, touch, and learn about our specialized life-saving equipment and meet members of our team. There will be plenty to see and many great photo opportunities for the whole family.

The HealthQuest team will be on hand to answer any questions about their programs and services. This is a great opportunity to speak to fitness and wellness professionals about your own goals and what HealthQuest has to offer to help you reach them.

New for 2024: Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull. Come see and learn about emergency services organizations from throughout Hunterdon County through interactive, hands-on emergency vehicle displays. Aside from the Squad's own vehicles, visiting Emergency Services Organizations competing in Truck Pull are invited to display their own vehicles along with our own. Expect to see fire trucks, police cars, rescue vehicles, MICUs, and more. You never know what kind of vehicle will drop in. In previous years we have welcomed a Blackhawk helicopter from the United States Army. See below to learn more and to claim your organization's display space while space lasts.

Can I be part of more than one team?

Yes! Plan to join as many teams/groups as you’d like. Many participants are asked to jump in and help teams a person or two short to complete their bracket.

Only ONE ticket is required to participate. If you pull on a second team, you do not need to order an additional ticket.

Can under-18s participate in the main truck pull?

Yes! Under-18s may take place in the main truck pull.  A parent or legal guardian must be present, and waivers must be signed by the parent or legal guardian.

Are sponsorship opportunities available?

Yes! Corporate sponsorships are available. Businesses or groups can become event sponsors. Several levels of sponsorship are available, and come with a variety of recognition and perks. All levels of sponsorship include social media shout-outs, photo opportunities, and the satisfaction of knowing that your business/organization is supporting first responders in your community. Contact Chelsea Salisbury of the HealthQuest Member Experience  team at salisbury@hqfit.com for more information or to sign up.

EMERGENCY SERVICES ORGANIZATIONS
COMPETING IN TRUCK PULL

Can my department put together a team to compete?

Yes - Emergency Services Departments are invited to field their own teams or partial teams, and the registration process has been simplified from previous years.

Each participant must order his or her own ticket here. There is no fee to order a ticket, all donations are due the day of the event. Use the "Rescue/EMS/Fire/Police" option, then choose that you already have a team. Enter your team Captain's name or department name. Please work with your teams to ensure all individuals who order tickets enter the team name in the same way, for example, do not have some participants enter, "Small Town Fire Company" while others enter "STFC".

Teams without a full bracket may be combined by the event organizers, or partial teams from friendly departments may choose to join forces on their own. Anyone with a ticket is welcome to pull more than once, and many teams have successfully recruited a "pickup" or two to complete their brackets.

Departments with at least 6 competitors are invited to display apparatus at Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull. Space is extremely limited and will be allotted on a first confirmed, first served basis. See the Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull section below for more information.

Previous years have seen teams representing the Raritan Township Police Department, Raritan Township Fire Company, South Branch Emergency Services, Whitehouse Rescue Squad, Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad, Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington Fire Department, PBA 188, and of course, the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad.

I'm an emergency services professional and I want to pull, but I'm the only competitor from my department. What should I do?

Register as an individual using the emergency services ticket option. Indicate that you do not yet have a team. The event organizers will assign you to a team with other emergency responders who are a head or two short. Check back when registration opens. Click here to register.

TOUCH-A-TRUCK AT TRUCK PULL

Questions - General Public

What is Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull?

Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull is a designated display area where various emergency services departments and vehicles will be staffed and on display. This family-friendly space will allow kids (and adults) of all ages to see, touch, and learn about EMS, Rescue, Fire, and Police resources serving our area. While attendees can, of course, “touch-a-truck”, they will also be able to meet and learn from local emergency response professionals, providing a fantastic opportunity for youngsters to interact with these role models.

How much does Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull cost?

Touch-a-Truck is open to the general public, there is no cost to attend! Donations to Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad are always appreciated.

What time will Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull be open?

Estimated times are below:

9:15 AM - Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull opens

12:00 PM - ESTIMATED time Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull closes

We expect to open at 9:15 AM, and Touch-a-Truck will continue to be open until at least 30 minutes after the end of Truck Pull. We estimate that Touch-a-Truck will close around 12:00 PM.

Check back for updates on timing as the event date gets closer as we are still working out the details for this inaugural addition.

 Questions - Agencies Displaying Apparatus

My agency wants to set up a Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull display, what do we need to do?

Physical space for Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull is limited. Emergency services agencies who commit to fielding a team of at least six competitors in Truck Pull are eligible to participate in Touch-a-Truck. However, all available Touch-a-Truck space for 2024 is already booked. A wait list has been formed. In the event of additional physical space becoming available, or in the event of an agency withdrawing, agencies on the wait list will be contacted on a first come, first served basis to be offered the spot. Emergency services organizations committing to have at least six competitors in the Truck Pull event are eligible to be added to the wait list.

Agencies participating in Touch-a-Truck are given space to display one piece of apparatus and one information table.

Agencies who are ready to commit a team of at least six competitors who would like to be added to the wait list, please reach out to FF/EMT Andrew Glowacki (andrew.glowacki@frfars.org) as quickly as possible.

What are we allowed to bring?

Agencies allotted space in the “Touch-a-Truck” area are welcome to place one piece of apparatus in the area. At least one person familiar with the apparatus must remain with it during the time the event is “open” and be ready to field questions from the public. We estimate we will be open from about 9:15 AM to 12:00 PM, but please check back regularly for the latest as the details for this first-year event are still coming together.

Each agency with space in the “Touch-a-Truck” area is also welcome to bring an information table to place adjacent to their apparatus. Agencies may provide general information about their agency and services, and may use the display area for educational, recruitment, future event promotion, or job posting purposes. Hand outs (such as coloring books, information pamphlets, or stickers) are welcome.

Agencies are encouraged to think of creative photo opportunities, games, learning activities, and hands on demonstrations. Popular options from previous, similar events have included driver's seat pictures, extrication tool displays, blood pressure checks, and CPR demonstrations. The more interactive your display, the better!

Are there any activities that are NOT allowed at the displays or information tables?

Visiting agencies may not collect or solicit donations at Truck Pull or Touch-a-Truck at Truck Pull. Agencies may not sell any goods or services, including raffles.

Space is very limited - at this time, we are not able to accommodate pop-up tents from visiting agencies.

When must Touch-a-Truck displays be set up? When may they break down?

All Touch-a-Truck displays should be in place by 9:00 AM and must remain in place until at least 30 minutes after the end of the Kids’ Pull event (estimated time: 12:00 PM).
