President David Giuliani came to FRFARS in 2000 with an interest in serving the community he called home. Dave currently serves as Squad President, a position he has held since mid-2018. In the past, he has held many officer positions, including Chief from 2013-2017, making him one of only a handful of members who have ever held our organization’s most senior administrative and operational role. He is also a leader for the Squad’s Capital Campaign, seeking to raise the funds necessary to replace our circa 1952 station with a new facility that meets today’s needs. As well as becoming part of the leadership team, Dave has also completed operations-level training in vehicle rescue, ice rescue, water rescue, and trench rescue, in addition to EMS-focused courses such as pre-hospital trauma life support (PHTLS) and PEPP.
Dave volunteers with several other organizations, including the Court Appointed Special Advocates, which helps provide a strong voice for children who have been removed from their homes or are under court supervision due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
“I consider myself a community-driven individual,” Dave says.
In addition to gaining a wide array of skills and knowledge through the Squad, Dave also met his wife, Shannon Bingert. After becoming good friends over several years of being on the Squad together, Dave and Shannon began dating. Dave proposed in August of 2012, and the couple married in May of 2014. Both Dave and Shannon consider the Squad a second home rather than a second job or activity. Even after 15-20 years with FRFARS, Dave and Shannon plan to stay on board for the long haul.
