The Squad's new utility pick-up truck has arrived at Ditschman Flemington Ford after being set-up at the fleet outfitter used by Ford. This vehicle will replace the 1992 Chevy Blazer still in use by the Squad as a utility vehicle.
The new 2011 Ford 4x4 F-350 crewcab pick-up is equipped with a Power Stroke diesel engine and automatic transmission. It is equipped with heavy duty components to allow for peak performance in off-road situations, towing, plowing, and other demanding applications. The truck came in its factory orange color through the commercial / government fleet system. The cab roof will be painted white and the truck lettered to match existing vehicles.
In addition to being a general utility vehicle, the new truck will tow the Squad's various trailers, plow the parking lot during snowy weather, assist in inclement weather, and be used for off-road responses.
Once received from the dealer, the new truck will be outfitted with emergency warning equipment and radios, and then lettered prior to entering service.
