In the early afternoon of June 5th, the squad was dispatched on the box with Station 21 for a report of a fire in a townhome on Worthington Terrace in the Townsende development.
First arriving police and fire units confirmed a fire on the second floor of a two story middle of the row townhome. The squad mobilized an ambulance immediately upon dispatch and an additional ambulance and rescue truck shortly thereafter. An EMS Branch was established, to treat any potential civilian or firefighter injuries. This entails the set up of medical equipment and a makeshift care area. Additional members of the squad set up and deployed rehabilitation equipment to provide medical monitoring and refreshment support to the firefighters, who had operated in the building. Members of the Rescue Services Unit assisted the fire company with firefighting tasks. The Flemington Fire department and Lebanon Fire Co also operated at this scene. The cooperative efforts of the involved fire and rescue agencies quickly stifled this potentially major fire.
In total, 12 members and staff manned 3 ambulances, a rehab unit and the heavy rescue truck as well as the command vehicle at this scene.
