On Thursday 30 July 2009 at 0751 Hours, the Flemington - Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad was requested to respond Mutual Aid by the Whitehouse Rescue Squad for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment at the intersection of Flemington - Whitehouse Road (County Route 523) and Pleasant Run Road (County Route 629) in Readington Township. Heavy Rescue 49-56 responded with a crew of five.
Upon arrival, crews found a passenger car that had collided with a tractor trailer, with the driver pinned by the dashboard and driver's door. Rescue assisted with removing the vehicle's roof and both front doors, and then lifted and displaced the dash in order to remove the driver. The driver was then packaged and transported to a nearby landing zone by Whitehouse Rescue. They were then airlifted to the trauma center at Morristown Memorial Hospital. A minor injury from the tractor trailer was cared for by Whitehouse Rescue, who responded three BLS units to the scene. Whitehouse Station Fire Company and HMC MICU EMS-1 also responded and assisted.
