On Monday 27 July 2009, the Flemington - Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad was dispatched to Route 202 NB in the area of Summer Road in Readington Township for a vehicle crash reported to be serious - at least one vehicle through the median, described as "head-on".

First arriving BLS ambulance 49-55 found two patients, one of whom was entrapped.  Additional resources were requested.  Heavy Rescue 49-56 responded along with two additional 49 BLS ambulances, along with HMC MICU EMS-1.  Aeromedical was requested to fly as well.  The Rescue crew removed the vehicle's roof and driver's side doors / B-post to remove the entrapped patient, who was then packaged and transported to the landing zone by 49-55.  Three Bridges Fire Company assisted at the scene and secured a landing zone for NJSP NorthSTAR, which landed in the area of Swingtown.
